Hey guys.
Can anyone help me out with the boost placements? What habitats should I put on each island?
Djmturner 20:40, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
Ive got them this way so no negative effects,
- Island 1 Fire, Earth and Plant
- Island 2 Cold and Lightning
- Island 3 Air
However some dragons need to be on there own, these will not get a bonus but will also not be negative.
- Blue fire, Ice and Iceberg dragons on Island 3
- Sandstorm on Island 2
I have my islands the same way:
Island 1: Fire, Earth & Plant
Island 2: Cold & Lightning
Island 3: Air & Water -- I have another cold habitat here for Ice & Reindeer. My Blue Fire is OK on island 2. My Iceburg in in the water habitat here.

I think we should be Abel to buy everything with the money collected from our dragons some of us don't have enough money to buy things that are not even real Like I love the game but my mom has to work hard As it is and my dad is not around so how am I supposed to get stuff that you half to buy with gems I think we all agree that their should be more free gems in the game

Okay so i have just one question, for a sandstorm dragon, you pretty much cant put it with an earth boost or a air boost right?

I also have the same island setup. As far as sandstorm, I don't have one yet, but I'd imagine it would be similar to blue fire. As such you should be fine putting it in air if you have the same island setup listed above.

I slightly modified the above strategies to include metal. I found the island 1 combo of plant/fire to be the most beneficial of any 2-element combinations previously available (I have a lot of spare poison and flower dragons, you may decide differently), so earth got moved to island 4. I now have my boosts organized as such:
- Island 1: Fire and Plant
- Island 2: Cold and Lightning
- Island 3: Air and Water
- Island 4: Earth and Metal

Update: build below not possible.
I did some analysis with a spreadsheet to find the optimal boosts for 4 islands. In my calculations I assume 1 of each hybrid and 2 of each base dragons (since it's nice to have an additional one for tournaments).
This spread gives a double boost to all hybrids except Sandstorm, Blue Fire, Frost Fire and Storm. These have a positive and negative boost but the double boosts make up for a few negative boosts.
It also puts all dragons in the habitats with the highest cap for that type and provides an almost optimal usage of the amount of dragons in the habitats and habitats on islands.
Note that I only have a rare Clover dragon, which is the only rare dragon included in the calculation.
Island 1: Plant, Fire, Lightning and Air

2 Large Fire Habitats with 7 dragons: 2 Fire (+1), Flower(+2), Poison(+2), Firefly(+2), Scorch(+2) and Blazing(+2) -
1 Large Lightning Habitat with 3 dragons: 2 Lightning(+1) and 1 Cactus(+2) -
1 Large Air Habitat with 4 dragons: 2 Air(+1), 1 Willow(+2) and 1 Sonic(+2)

Island 2: Water, Plant, Earth and Cold
-
1 Plant Habitat: with 2 Plant dragons(+1) -
2 Large Earth Habitats with 5 dragons: Moss(+2), Tree(+2), Clover(+2), Mountain(+2) and Mud(+2) -
1 Large Cold Habitat with 3 dragons: Lichen(+2), Blue Fire(+1/-1) and Frostfire(+1/-1) -
1 Large Water Habitat with 3 dragons: 1 Water(+1), Seaweed(+2) and Swamp(+2)

Not sure I understand Westerhoff's build. Looks to me that it assumes multiple boosts of the same type on different islands?
Personally, I'm running the same island layout as BurntGerbil, which we came up with independently. For me, it was more out of convenience, moving the Earth from my Plant/Fire/Earth Island to a new island along with metal.
- Cold/Lightning
- Water/Air
- Plant/Fire
- Metal/Earth
For me, running this was also for aesthetic reasons, and for the combination of decorations. As a general rule of thumb, with 4 islands with 2 types of dragons on each, as long as 1 island doesn't have 2 elements that are exact opposite of another island, there should be no negative boosts (barring Sandstorm, Blue Fire and Frostfire which have 0.96 multiplier). E.g. Plant/Fire hard counters Metal/Frost.
But yeh, unless you're satisfied with the amount of cash you have or don't mind taking your time, I would run 1 large metal habitat with 4 irons (for breeding) [Metal and Earth Boost] on one island and as many Earth habitats with 4 Panlongs [Water and Fire Boost] on another island. Theoretical maximum amount of cash with 1 large metal habitat and 28 large earths is over 100mil/day assuming you nolife it. Too bad you can't fit all the earth habitats on one island and noone can actually monitor their dragons with that much attention

Here's my setup for Level 21.
- Island 1: 4x Fire, 2x Water, water and fire boost
- Island 2: 2x Lightning, 1x Fire, 2x Air, lightning and air boost
- Island 3: 3x Earth, 2x Plant, plant and earth boost
- Island 4: 2x Cold, 2x Metal, cold and metal boost
With this setup the Panlong has full boost wich is currently 278 @ L10 and the others almost get no penalties.

Mine is placed ike this:
- Island 1 : Fire, Earth, Lightning
- Island 2 : Water, Cold, Plant
- Isand 3 : Air, Metal
Just arrange the dragons in a way that there would be no negatives(except for opposites, such as Blue Fire and Sandstorm). However, it would really be hard to place 3 element dragons like Bloom, and 4 element, Panlong, so I used my 4th Island for those kinds, without boosts.

If you realised but dragons like blue fire and sandstorm and other dragons that include elements which are opposite give great income of DragonCash so It's too bad that they can't boost their income , so try to don't use boosters on their island and put them on an island alone , good decision indeed .

If you're looking at it in terms of maximizing your cash, try out something like this. Keep in mind this is for a moderate frequency player, if you're on constantly you may be able to maximize more income with another strategy.
Island 1: Plant and Lightning habitats (as well as admin such as BC, Colosseum, Nursery, Treat farms, etc) no boosts. For moderate frequency, Plant and Lightning habitats are pretty much worthless.
Island 2: Panlong army. 8x Earth Habitats, 1x Water habitat. Fire and Water Boosts. Fill Earth Habitats with Panlong Dragons. This is also a good Island for Dodo and Sandstorm Dragons.
Island 3: 3x Cold Habitats, 2x Air Habitats, Cold and Air Boosts. Do not put bluefire or frostfire dragons on this island
Island 4: 5x Metal Habitats, 1x Fire Habitat, Metal and Lightning boosts. For long term earning, Fill Metal Habitats with copper dragons. Fire habitat can house brass/forge, scortch and firefly dragons with positive effects.
Island 5: 1x Earth Habitat, 1x Cold Habitat, 1x Water Habitat, 1x Fire Habitat, Plant and Earth boosts. This one is tricky, but if you do it right, you maximize your earnings. Earth habitat should house plant/earth hybrids moss, tree and sakura (if you don't have sakura, placing the earth dragon here would maximize it's output), cold should have frostfire/bluefire and mountain, fire should have poison, flower and lava dragons, and water should have current/plasma and swamp/seaweed.
Island 6: Rare Dragon Habitats. I just got my 6th Island so I don't really have anything to put there at the moment other than a couple solstice dragons and a moon dragon. I just reached level 30.

Here's a layout for anyone who has 3 islands
Island 1: Metal, earth, cold, water
You get to choose what you put there
Island 2: Plant, Fire, lightning, air.
Again, choose what you want.
Island 3: no boosts, Hibernation cave, small fire habitat, any two rare dragons with fire in their element scheme (I did Panlong and brass).

A better 1
1st Island: Plant, Fire, Earth, Lightning
2nd: Cold, Water, Air, Metal
3rd: Epic
