- The Lava Dragon was released when the game was released, on September 14, 2011.
- The Lava Dragon is depicted on the "Dragons" icon in the market.
- As of June 29, 2016, the "Dragons" icon in market changed from the Adult Lava Dragon to the Baby Fire Dragon.
- When the Bone Dragon was initially released, it was impossible to tell if you had bred a Lava Dragon or a Bone Dragon until you hatched the egg, as they both used the Lava Dragon egg.
- The egg for the Bone Dragon was changed when the Bone Dragon first left the market.
- Initially, the Lava Dragon was available at level 7, but the level availability changed on an unknown date to level 4.
