- The Lava Dragon was released when the game was released, on September 14, 2011.
- The Lava Dragon is depicted on the "Dragons" icon in the market.
- When the Bone Dragon was initially released, it was impossible to tell if you had bred a Lava Dragon or a Bone Dragon until you hatched the egg, as they both used the Lava Dragon egg.
