• The Thatched Roof Cottage was introduced  on October 19, 2011.
• The Thatched Roof Cottage is a reference to the famous Homestar Runner series of online animated flash cartoons. Specifically the episode titled "Dragon" in which Strong Bad (a character in the series) gets an e-mail asking him to draw a dragon. Strong Bad names the dragon he draws Trogdor the Burninator. At the end of the episode, Strong Bad sings a song about Trogdor the Burninator with the following lyrics: "Burninating the countryside. Burninating the peasants. Burninating all the peoples... and their thatched roof cottages!! Thatched roof Cottages!!"
• Burninate also appears in the description of the Fire Habitat as "...burninating your visitors."
• On December 2, 2011, the Thatched Roof Cottage was re-designed to have snow on it.
• On December 21, 2012, the Thatched Roof Cottage was decorated with holiday decorations for a limited time.
