I use a Wacom tablet to draw these btw, its a challenge decreasing the detail in my sketches to draw my Dragonvale dragons but its fun and I want to see my creations come to life. Even though they're Dragonvale dragons, adding a bit of realism and expression won't hurt!
WOAH! So many ideal dragons to draw!!! I'll try to get through all of them but it will take some time! Btw if anyone wants a request just post it below thanx xD
Legend has it that the Demon Dragon is born in the underworld where it serves the Dark Lord, it is the bringer of evil and whoever sees it will be cursed with bad luck. Their horns and body are scared with fire in the shape of the Dark Lord’s symbol which further explains why its presence is so misfortunate. They reach the surface by digging upwards through tones of rock with their razor sharp black claws.
The Space and Time Dragon is believed to be the ruler of time and space. Its wings are amazingly colourful along with its beautiful orange scales that make its appearance truly magnificent. According to legend, finding this dragon will give you powers beyond your wildest dreams, unfortunately NO ONE has ever seen it, so the only information known about it is based on legend and myths.
Only present in the season of Autumn, legend has it that the Autumn Dragon is the cause of the trees wilting due to the wind that is made from the flapping of its wings. They are apparently aggressive when approached.
Only present in the season of Winter, the body shape of the Winter Dragon is visibly similar to that of the Rainbow Dragon even though neither dragon is related in anyway. Its scales are made from frost, hail and icicles which proves why it is called the Winter Dragon besides the fact it is only present in Winter.
Only present in the season of Summer, the Summer Dragon’s scales appear to be sun kissed which gives them a beautiful summer glow. It is thought to be related to the flower dragon due to its colourful flowers and wings.
Only present in the season of Spring, the Spring Dragon’s wings are so beautiful that many have tried to steal them, it is said that whoever manages to remove their wings in greed and selfishness will be cursed for eternity.
The bringer of darkness itself, the Shadow Dragon thrives on dark environments where there is no light what so ever. Its skin blends so well in the dark that all you can see is its terrifying red eyes staring straight at you! I wouldn’t get too close because you could be greeted with an unfriendly growl and a bladed tail...
An extremely rare dragon, Danika or “Morning Star” has beautiful blue scales with shining orange stars. Legend has it that she is born in the night sky amongst the stars and that her scales are actually made up of falling stars, she is also believed to be the only dragon who can talk! Most believe this is a myth because not many have seen her or heard her speak, some say that she will only speak if she is given a special gift.
Known for its loud scream during the night, the Nightingale Dragon is almost invisible against the night sky so spotting one is highly unlikely unless you were extremely lucky. Unfortunately not much is known about them because they are a nocturnal species and like I said before, are impossible to spot!
The Shard Dragon is given its name due to its rusty razor sharp metal spikes that it can dismount at predators at a rapid speed. Its spikes also help it disguise itself as stalagmites in caves. Watch your step.
River Dragons only live in rivers and streams, their multiple fins help them swim easily through strong river currents, they are a shy species of dragon and if approached without caution they swim away at such an amazing speed that all you see is a line of water. They also give a pretty nasty bite if your unlucky.

It uses its shining light above its head to guide itself through the water along with its powerful fins that are very effective at helping it travel fast and swiftly.
Being the only predatory plant based dragon discovered, the Fly Trap Dragon uses its long colourful yellow spotted tongue to attract its prey, when its prey has been attracted it uses its tongue as a dart to catch it and devour it with its two heads fitted with piranha like teeth. Make sure guests keep their distance.
Baby Volcano Dragons are born from the fiery depths of volcanoes, it is said that the large fin on the end of their tail is used for swimming through the lava beneath the volcano to the surface where it takes its first flight out of its volcanic birthplace, after this stage they begin to mature and never return. The purpose of it having two heads is that one head blows highly flammable gas and the other ignites it which creates a massive jet stream of fire.
Yuck! This dragon reminds me of the annoying weeds that grow in my garden! The Weed Dragon’s spiky scales and flowery tail make it look like a weed plant you’d find in your garden, its scales also help it disguise itself. Its flowery tail attracts its prey, when its prey lands on its tail the sharp spikes on each end will grip it so the dragon is able to eat it without having to make an effort. Pretty neat hey? Requested.
The Mantis Dragon gets its name from its two grasping jagged claws which are used to fight off predators and catch food, it is said that its claws are so sharp that they can slice straight through solid rock! This dragon looks very similar to an insect because of its hard exoskeleton. What a strange looking dragon! Requested.
The limited 2012 Olympic Dragon is to celebrate this year’s Summer Olympics. Its body symbolises the gold medal, its wings and tail symbolise the silver metal, and its belly symbolises the bronze metal. The gold medal around its neck is in recognition of its strong will and physical strength. Don’t miss out on him, he truly is a winner!
Legend has it that the Eclipse Dragon is the cursed offspring of the sun and moon dragons due to the fact it was created from moonlight and sunlight which is a highly unstable combination. The fact that it’s only seen flying towards an eclipse terrifies wizards as well as other dragons. This dragon truly is a special and wondrous addition to your park! I don’t know about you but that toothy grin scares me... maybe its the razor sharp teeth...
Legend has it that the original Heartbreak Dragon’s form was a love dragon who fell in love with the sun dragon, however the sun dragon had his eyes on the moon dragon. Overcome with jealousy, the love dragon cursed both moon and sun dragons so that their elements were incompatible, which would result in a cursed offspring. Due to her prolonged broken heart, her form was ripped apart which altered her whole appearance. Wow, love really does hurt... Requested.
Look at this cute fellow! The Ash Dragon gets its name from its grey body similar to an air dragon's, the black mist that flies off its wings and tail, and its tendency to glide through ash clouds above volcanoes. It enjoys playing around and interacting with other dragons as well as people. This lil’ cutie is a must have playmate for your park!
Look at those beautiful shiny scales! The Gold Dragon is thought to have scales made from pure gold! Unfortunately its shiny appearance makes it difficult to hide from foes, but it uses its pointing wings and razor sharp tail blade to protect itself. Legend has it that if you were to remove its scales from its body they will instantly fade into iron. Requested.
Avalanche Dragons are thought to be the cause of avalanches due to their loud high pitched roar that can be heard from miles away. According to wizards, baby Avalanche Dragons burry themselves deep beneath the snow and emerge once they have fully matured into adults.
Digital remake of another artist's work.
Named for its sunny glow, the Sun Glider Dragon enjoys flying above the clouds and hovering in front of the sun to warm itself. It is a harmonious creature that enjoys the company of other dragons and wizards.
Yikes!? What a scary looking dragon! Despite its menacing appearance, the Acid Dragon is in fact a very peaceful oriented creature that enjoys sleeping beneath the sun and socialising with fellow dragons and wizards. Although it is seen as harmless, it does spit acid at anyone or anything that tries to harm it. Make sure you stay on this dragon’s good side!
The rare Meteor Dragon was first spotted when a meteor shower hit a nearby island. The locals had no clue what had happened so they immediately ran out of their houses and found a couple of these dragons walking around. According to legend, the only Meteor Dragons that exist on land are the ones that crashed on the surface of the island. Requested by Tyler and Hayden.
Half animal, half dragon? Now that is one strange specie of dragon! The Animal Dragon clearly gets its name from its animalistic appearance and also its ability to reach speeds just as fast as a cheetah! Now that is fast!
Look at those crazy curly scales! The Jet Stream Dragon can fly up to speeds as fast as a jet and can maneuver around predators in a flash. Its scales are a very peculiar shape but they are the cause of this dragons impressive flying speed.
Ruby Dragons are very shy and tend to hide from anyone or anything that confronts them. Even though they are a timid species, if their trust is gained they are in fact very playful and shed their rubies to whom has gained their trust as a sign of respect.
Peridot Dragons are said to be the most beautiful dragons wizards have ever discovered. Their beautiful green scales glimmer like crystals in the sun and according to legend, anyone who looks into their eyes will immediately feel a sense of calmness. Their beauty isn’t the only thing that is bewildering though, the graceful way in which they fly is also another eye catching trait.
The Equinox Dragon is only present at the time in which day and night are of equal length. These dragons have dark grey scales and glowing green markings which give them a ghostly appearance that frightens wizards and fellow dragons. According to legend, Core Dragons are born in the centre of the Earth and when they mature they tunnel through the earth until they reach the surface, it is thought that they are the cause of volcanoes. According to wizards when these dragons mature into adults their indestructible rocky armor splits into pieces which exposes their molten lava skin. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near this dragon! I’d probably get fried!
Digital remake of Moonlovur's Geyser Dragon.
I haven't uploaded any new dragons recently, but when I saw the new Firework dragon, I looked at my Neon baby dragon and noticed the head structure of the Firework was similar. I did not copy the Firework dragon because I made this dragon on the 22 of June. Just saying :]
You may notice that the markings on the Sundial dragon greatly resemble those on a sundial. This is not for any particular reason, but it does contribute to how we discovered these beautiful dragons. When the first sundial was made by Babylonians, and when it was presented, it caught the interest of many people. In fact, it caught the interest of more than just people. As they were presenting the sundial, a magnificent Sundial dragon alighted on a temple nearby. This greatly startled many people, but they soon became calm. The Sundial dragon soon realized his error in believing that this carved stone was another dragon, and flew away. Since that event, Sundial dragons have been more inclined to be near people, for they did not wish to harm them. Written by Legolaika1001
According to legend the Comet Dragon’s horns and claws have been stained blue from space dust. The blue mist flying off its body is actually blue fire and star dust combined. It is possible for it to fall from space and crash, fallen Comet Dragons are called “Fallen”. If it falls from space, its blue fire will burn out until it takes flight once again. Apparently if you find a Fallen Comet Dragon you will be given one wish! Inspired by Moonlovur.

The Robot dragon was actually originally a battle dragon. Sadly, it was wounded in a fight and was on the edge of death, when a inventor stumbled upon it. He took pity on the dragon and took it back to his laboratory. He constructed a body for it, out of metals forged in Cazmodan by the dwarven smiths. The inventor carefully placed the most vital parts of the dragon inside of the frame, and sealed it. The dragon slowly came to life, but after a while, it became very lonely, for it was the only one of its kind. The inventor saw this, and he constructed a mate for the Robot dragon. The robot dragons you see today are descendants of these two. Written by Legolaika1001
Digital remake of Sept-creature's Toy Dragon.
Digital remake of SynergyShade3624's Fairy Dragon.
The Battle Dragons are ferocious dragons who live for the fight. Their armored bodies are perfect for what they love doing best, and if given a chance to brawl, will leap right to it. Although, despite being such brutal creatures, battle dragons are kind at heart. When the battle blood is not pumping through them, they are fine with cuddling up to other dragons or humans. Just be careful though, one wrong move near a battle dragon, and you're toast!
Digital remake of WhiteTigerlily's Tropical Dragon.
This is one cold hearted dragon. The frost dragon is a territorial creature known to attack unprovoked, but that doesn't mean they are all bad. They can become tame if you just give them a scratch on the back, because their back is the one spot that they can't itch, what with those large wings. Frost dragons tend to carry themselves on icy cold updrafts, and when they can't find one of those, extend their wings and take flight. Those wings aren't just ornamental, after all! The electromagnetic dragon is one shocking dragon! It is related to the magnetic dragon, but it is much different. Its long, scything claws carry enough electricity to stun a yak, although why would it need to stun a yak? It gathers electricity from magnetic currents absorbed by the horn on its forehead, and discharges it through its tail or claws. Despite its fearsome appearance, the Electromagnetic Dragon is relatively docile, and has a weakness for scrap metal. Written by Legolaika1001
Digital remake of SynergyShade3624's Tunneling Dragon.
The magical Dream Dragon is possibly one of the most interesting dragons. Baby Dream Dragons are born out of happy dreams, and enjoy floating gently around, spreading joy and peacefulness wherever they go. When you go near them, a feeling of lightheadedness and exhilaration flows over you. Our wizards had a very hard time creating the perfect habitat for this fantastical dragon, and an even harder time actually getting the dragon for your park! We hope you enjoy the Dream Dragon, and don't daydream while you're looking at it. Written by Legolaika1001
Digital remake of SynergyShade3624's Shade Dragon.
Behold the terrifying Nightmare Dragon. This monstrous dragon is a result of a bad dream. When Dream Dragons find themselves confronted with bad dreams, they slowly start to change into a horrifying Nightmare Dragon. Nightmare Dragons dedicate themselves to scaring people and making their sleep restless and unhappy. Needless to say, they are sworn enemies of Dream Dragons, and if these two dragons meet, I would advise clearing the area. I'm surprised the wizards actually found a way to keep these guys in a habitat! Written by Legolaika1001
Woah! Looks like this fella was hit by a paint bomb! As strange as this may sound, this did (in fact) happen. Apparently an inexperienced wizard who was near these dragons casted a spell that backfired and caused a massive paint explosion which stained the dragons with bright colours. Thanks to his medalling, an entire dragon species has had to suffer! No wonder these dragons have a surprised expression on their faces. Inspired by the new Ash Dragon.

The majestic Surf Dragon's namesake is not a surfboard. The surf dragon is called this because of how greatly its watery tail resembies ocean surf. These docile creatures live in beachy areas and love nothing more than splashing and playing in the waves. Because it is wingless, these dragons cannot take flight, but, if they catch the perfect wave, they can launch themselves into the air with a burst of power. Despite the fact that it is not named after the recreational activity, you will often see these dragons surfing the waves with their large tails. Written by Legolaika1001
In the beginning there was only Chaos, and life was with Chaos. Chaos gave birth to five children, the Sun Dragon, the Moon Dragon and the Wizard Dragon. For years the Wizard Dragon leapt from shadow realm to shadow realm until he met Merlin. He helped Merlin learn the Elemental Magics, this was how Merlin became the most powerful wizard in history. Centuries later the descendent of the first Wizard Dragon found TheWizardz near the shimmering isles marveling at the sacred grave of the very first Wizard Dragon. They too required the secret to the Elemental Magics. In honor of TheWizardz
